Double drawn vs super double drawn
"Drawing" describes how carefully short strands are removed from a bundle. It is the single biggest factor in whether extensions look full at the ends or thin out into wispy tips after a few weeks. It is also the first thing we explain to clients choosing hair extensions in Marbella.
Single drawn
A single drawn bundle contains hair of mixed lengths. It is full at the top and noticeably thinner at the ends. It is the most common grade on the market and the reason many clients feel their extensions "lost volume" quickly.
Double drawn
Short strands are removed by hand so the majority of the hair shares one length. The result is a bundle that keeps most of its thickness from root to tip, with a soft, natural taper at the very end.
Super double drawn
The process is repeated until almost every strand matches. The weft is close to the same thickness at the tip as at the root — dense, blunt and heavy in the hand. It takes far more raw hair and far more hand-sorting, which is why it sits at the top of the market. It is the standard for our Premium A++ line.
How to judge it yourself
- Hold the bundle at the top and let it fall — the silhouette should stay wide, not taper to a point
- Grip the ends: they should feel substantial, not sparse
- Ask for the weight and length together — density claims mean nothing without both
